What is Prince route
Route Characteristics
Starts from the New 5th Station on the Fujinomiya Route ⇒ New 6th Station ⇒ (Hoei Mountain Hiking Course) ⇒ Hoei Crater ⇒ Horse’s Back Ridge of Hoei Mountain ⇒ Gotemba 6th Station ⇒ Summit.
- Connects the Fujinomiya Route and the Gotemba Route.
- This route was used by Crown Prince Naruhito in 2008.
- It is not widely known and has fewer climbers.
- Beware of strong winds on the Horse’s Back Ridge of Hoei Mountain; at times, the wind speed can be so high that it feels like it could lift an adult.
